Tonight, Tonight

"A Place For Us," the album celebrating the 50th anniversary of West Side Story is now available in stores. The album features a new recording of "Tonight" with Kristin Chenoweth and Hugh.

"Tonight" is also available on iTunes. However, it is listed only under Kristin's name. The direct link to it has been posted on the main page and Recordings page of Hugh-Panaro.net.

Keep an eye on the site - it seems we're going to have a little special surprise relating to this recording at some point in the near future.

Also, the original cast recording of Side Show, featuring Alice Ripley, Emily Skinner, Jeff McCarthy, Hugh Panaro, and Norm Lewis, is now available on iTunes and I've made that link available on the site, too.

Recording news

No, this is not an update on Hugh's solo CD...yet.

Before leaving for Europe to tour with Barbra Streisand, Hugh was in the studio with Kristin Chenoweth to record a new version of "Tonight" for a new West Side Story album.

The album, A Place For Us - A Tribute To 50 Years of West Side Story, is now available for pre-order and is set for release in early September.

Hugh and Kristin are in good company as the album features tracks by such music icons as Julie Andrews, Neil Diamond, Andre Previn, and Barbra Streisand.

Also, Simply Barbra Duets, an album by Streisand tribute artist Steven Brinberg was released earlier this year. For a preview of Hugh's smooth, sultry duet with "Simply Barbra," please check out Hugh's official MySpace page.

If you couldn't make it to Europe to hear Hugh with the real Babs, this isn't a bad substitute.

Now, here's hoping it won't be too long before I have something to blog about Hugh's own album.
