Bring Him Home

Twenty years ago, a handsome young Philadelphia-born actor named Hugh Panaro began his Broadway career by bringing his unique sincerity and beautiful voice to the role of Marius Pontmercy in the epic and hugely successful musical Les Miserables.

Tonight, things come full circle for Hugh as he takes on the lead role of Jean Valjean at Philadelphia's esteemed Walnut Street Theatre.

As someone who first saw Hugh as Marius, I'm thrilled to be attending the Opening Night performance. I have seen Hugh in a variety of roles in the past few years - as The Phantom, as the vampire Lestat, Bobby in Sondheim's Company, and as an charismatic concert artist. I know that, as always, he will exceed my highest expectations as Jean Valjean. He always does.

Please stayed tuned to Hugh's site and this blog for more on Opening Night and Les Miserables.
