New photos at HPN

Well, the Broadway Tenors concert in Annapolis is now history and the first photos are coming in. I'm adding them to the site as I receive them. If you haven't seen them yet, go now and look.

A preview...Hugh being a bit silly with fellow-tenor Sal Viviano.

Stay tuned for some news of Hugh in the next few weeks. I'll have it posted as soon as he gives me leave to!

December Update

First, a tremendous thank you to everyone who bid in our special auction to benefit BC/EFA. We raised $861! However, the recent Broadway strike has cost BC/EFA thousands of dollars in donations since it prevented collections in the theatres for much of November. If you'd like to help support BC/EFA in Hugh's name, please click the banner above.

Hugh will be performing in The Broadway Tenors concert with the Annapolis Symphony. Please see the main page of Hugh's site for the ticket link. I'm going to see if I can arrange a ticket discount. Stay tuned!

Also, in time for the holiday season, a festive little song has been added to Hugh's official MySpace.

Best wishes,

Paula

Hugh Panaro's website is holding an auction of musical memorabilia to benefit one of his favorite charities, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. We will be listing items at eBay beginning on November 2. They include his "Lestat" opening night present and a shirt worn by Hugh in concert. All but one item is autographed by Hugh.

The items are available to preview on the site so you can take a look and decide what you'd like to bid on.

The links and other updates will be posted at that page.

Thank you so much for your support!

The Leading Men II - NOW AVAILABLE

For Hugh Panaro and Broadway fans who were not able to attend the annual Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS Flea Market last week to purchase The Leading Men II DVD in person...there's great news.

The DVD is now available to order through Broadway Beats. I've set aside a page with the link to their order form, along with photos from the concert which was held at Birdland Jazz Club back in February.

The Leading Men II

The concert (which was hosted by John Tartaglia) includes performances by Adam Jacobs, Seth Rudetsky, Norm Lewis, Jim Caruso, Daniel Reichard, and many other amazing Broadway leading men.

For Hugh fans, the highlight is his beautiful and poignant performance of "Right Before My Eyes." So, if you missed Lestat or just want another chance to experience the song written for Hugh, the DVD is a must-have!

Orders support BC/EFA so it's also a chance to help a great cause. And stayed tuned for another chance to help out BC/EFA coming soon.

Also, tonight marks two years since Hugh's final performance in The Phantom of the Opera.

Bucks County Cabaret ...one year later

One year ago, Hugh Panaro charmed the audience at a benefit for amFAR held at Carousel Farm just outside New Hope, Pennsylvania

The concert was one of his first post-Lestat performances. It included such songs as "At Long Last Love," "Right Before My Eyes, "Someone To Watch Over Me," "What It Happens To You" (from The Red Shoes), "Never, NeverLand," a devilishly funny "Sara Lee," a haunting "Music of the Night," and finishing with "Being Alive" as a preview of his then new role as Bobby in Company.

Accompanied by Phil Reno on the piano, Hugh showed off the natural charm that makes him such a wonderful concert artist.

Click here for more videos from the performance.

Following the show, Hugh was surprised with a special gift from friends...a memory quilt. Planned and assembled by Shirley, the quilt was a tribute to Hugh as performer and as a person.

Click here for more quilt photos.

None of us who were present that evening will forget it any time soon!

Tonight, Tonight

"A Place For Us," the album celebrating the 50th anniversary of West Side Story is now available in stores. The album features a new recording of "Tonight" with Kristin Chenoweth and Hugh.

"Tonight" is also available on iTunes. However, it is listed only under Kristin's name. The direct link to it has been posted on the main page and Recordings page of Hugh-Panaro.net.

Keep an eye on the site - it seems we're going to have a little special surprise relating to this recording at some point in the near future.

Also, the original cast recording of Side Show, featuring Alice Ripley, Emily Skinner, Jeff McCarthy, Hugh Panaro, and Norm Lewis, is now available on iTunes and I've made that link available on the site, too.
